This document complements our Privacy Policy and precisely describes what happens when Leanfy sends data to third-party artificial intelligence services, so you can give informed consent before using these features.
Depending on the feature you use: • A photo of your fridge or a food item, to identify ingredients and their nutritional values. • A photo of your silhouette, only if you use the body fat percentage scanner. • Your list of available ingredients and your nutritional goals (weight, objective, preferences), to generate personalised recipes. Your account credentials (email, password) are never sent to these services.
Google Gemini is used as the primary provider for photo analysis and recipe generation. OpenAI (GPT-4o / GPT-4o mini) is used as a fallback if Gemini is unavailable. DeepSeek is used in addition for recipe generation.
These transmissions are used solely to: identify food items and estimate their nutritional values from a photo, estimate your body fat percentage from a photo, and generate recipe suggestions tailored to your ingredients and goals.
Before the first use of each photo-based feature (food scanning, body fat estimation), an explicit checkbox informs you of the providers used and asks for your agreement before anything is sent. You can decline and keep using Leanfy without that feature: no photo is transmitted in that case.
Photos sent for analysis are not stored on our servers beyond the immediate processing of your request. Our AI providers likewise do not retain these photos or data beyond processing the request, and never use them to train their models.
These providers operate under commercial agreements (enterprise API with a data processing agreement in place), guaranteeing a level of protection for your data equivalent to that required by GDPR. No data is sold or transferred for commercial purposes.
